And there are some cool tutorials that will provide you a step-by-step guide for developing iPhone apps.

I have tried many of the tutorials, so I can speak from experience on what I personally found to work and what didnt work. There are a lot of sites out there that assume you are a seasoned professional programmer, and there are also a lot of sites that are at the other extreme, so much so that I couldn’t see how I would ever get started as an iphone app creator using those methods.

In the end I came across a few really good sources of information that really helped me on my path to becoming a iphone app creator . I’d suggest you take a look, and you too could soon be making money developing iphone applications.

My  best advice to a would-be iphone app creator is this: Don’t be greedy. You can easily make up for in volume what you lose in price. Create a good, popular app and you can make a fortune.

1. Over-blown visuals.
2. Neglecting technological limitations, such as slow Internet connection.
3. Confusing navigation
4. Confusing the iPhone with a computer. Neglecting to use new iPhone interactions and technological features such as phone functions, built-in GPS and accelerometer.
5. Disregard of context. A lack of understanding of how, when, where and why the mobile device is being used.

So, first entry in my blog, I thought I’d say a little about my experience as an iphone app creator which my be of some use to some of you budding iPhone developers out there.

First of all I thought I’d mention the iPhone itself, in case any of you have been stranded on a desert island for the past three years or so!

The iPhone is a line of internet and multimedia-enabled smartphones designed and marketed by Apple and released in 2007. An iPhone functions as a camera phone (also including text messaging and voicemail), a media player (equivalent to a video iPod), and an internet client (with email, web browsing and wi-fi connectivity). The application user interface is built around the device’s multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard rather than a physical one.

Third-party applications are available from the Apple App Store, which launched in mid-2008. These apps have diverse functionalities, including games, reference, GPS navigation, social networking, and advertising for television shows, films and celebrities.

It is these third-party mobile applications that prompted me to become an iphone app creator. The sheer wealth of opportunities available to new programmers has made the iphone an attractive platform to develop mobile applications for. Not to mention the money making opportunities.
